Tim Riggins- The boy in town that acts as a 30 year old, but is really only 16 years old. He was taken into football at a young age and taught the skills in order to be a great player. His attitude for the sport and respect did not come through until coach Taylor left an impression upon him. Tim embodies the way that these young men have changed in the spirit of following coach Taylor's way of thinking.

This connects directly to the way in which disciples and priests follow the word of God faithfully in order to achieve greatness. By listening and embracing the words, their actions start to mimic the gift that Christianity influences.

In the stadium or on the field there is a feeling of community and pride radiating out of all that are present. The same can be said for when Christians enter into a church, they are looking for a sense of faith in their community to be restored. This community, faith, pride and connection is all drawn from the spirit of the word in the Lord or in the case of football, the coach.

Welcome to my Religious Studies 2812 Website, based on the televison series "Friday Night Lights". "Friday Night Lights" takes place in a small town and is about a football team that emphasizes the importance of  having strong Christianity values. Coach Taylor, and his family embody the spirit of Christianity with the use of football. The show is full of subliminal messages that can be drawn back to the Christian faith, but the purpose of this site is to show how Christianity can be portrayed through the means of football, and focusing on Coach Taylor's motto of "clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose" as a way to bring his role as their saviour to life.
